Sensory hut unveiled!

We are super proud of our new sensory hut which we recently unveiled to the children in a special opening ceremony! For those that don’t know our hut was initially used as an indoor sand hut but after chatting to our children it was decided that it needed a magic facelift. They decided along with a small team of staff to turn the hut into a sensory hut which would be an exploratory quiet space for children to explore throughout the day. The biggest challenge was to do this using the community around us and involving as many people as possible. And that they did! Sainsbury’s donated 6000 red noses to fill our ball bit, B&Q donated chalk board paint and other decorative tools, we asked parents and local shops to donate sensory items, all together with a touch of imagination and I think you will agree the end result is fantastic! Our children have benefited so much from having a quiet zone to wind down and get in touch with their senses! Thank you so much to all involved! Next month watch out for the transformation to Hughie’s den!
